The Tatts have announced that Billy Thorpe guitarist Dai Pritchard
will be playing slide in place of Pete Wells for the upcoming
European tour. We've got two words for ya Dai...ROCK ON!!!

PRESS RELEASE

Pete Wells, best known as Rose Tattoo's slide guitarist 
was diagnosed with prostate cancer two years ago. 
His courage and good humor have helped him through the illness. 

However, while Rose Tattoo are due to tour Europe again this 
summer, Pete has announced that he is not able to travel with 
the band due to his continuing ill-health. 

Pete would like to thank all his friends and fans for their enthusiasm 
and support over the years. He looks forward to playing overseas again 
some day, after he's made a full recovery.

Black Smith Hopkins New Album 2/14/04




Black Smith Hopkins (aka Nick Smith-Hopkins) has released his latest album
titled "The Backwater Truth". This is Black Smith’s seventh album and one
which he says is his best, an opinion which Pete Wells web bloke Michael Eagling
agrees with, even only after a few listens. 

Pete Wells once again guests on the album, as he has done on all Black Smith’s 
releases. Black Smith has a different approach in recording, using guests 
musicians in two separate recording sessions in Sydney and Melbourne. 
Joining Pete in the Sydney crew on "The Backwater Truth" are fellow Pete Wells 
Band members, Lucy DeSoto (piano), Steve ‘Auby’ Auburn (drums) & 
Pete ‘Snaggy’ Masi (guitar).

The official album launch is being held @ the Excelsior Hotel, Surrey Hills
on March 25. Guest support on the night is Pete Wells, Lucy DeSoto & Rob

Lucy Desoto Heading To The Recording Studio 2/14/04




Pete’s song writing partner, Lucy DeSoto, is heading into the studio to
record her fourth album in the few couple of weeks. Lucy, together with Pete
& Rob Grosser, will be trying out the new material for the album playing
gigs around Sydney over the next month – check the gig section on the 
Pete Wells site for dates. No release date has been set but stay tuned.
